When did you start snowboarding and how did you start racing?: I started snowboarding when I was about 8, I always wanted to try it but my mom always told me I wasn’t allowed until one day my dad and I “accidentally” lost my skis and bought me a snowboard (without mom’s permission). I started racing because another team member and I liked to go fast, we liked watching the carvers go down on the mountain on their boards.

Where is your favourite place to ride?: Any of the mountains in Banff, something about snowboarding with such spectacular views that makes me love it out there.

Who is your snowboarding role model or hero?: There are so many riders that I look up to within the snowboarding community, however after the last Olympics Marriane Lesson is my number one role model. Her run in Sochi, to me, was completely unexpected, she placed so well and always knows how to push herself further to be able to compete at her best.

What do you like best about snowboarding?: My coaches like to make ridiculous drills out of nothing and often times they exaggerate a targeted area that we are working on. These drills make us look/feel strange while riding down the hill. My favourite thing about snowboarding is when these drills are integrated with the rest of my riding in a course. The best is when I can feel my free riding and drills being transferred over into my riding in a race course.

What do you like to do when you're not competing or training?: I love playing soccer, and have been playing in a competitive league since I was about ten. I also love being at the cottage to relax and swim.

What are your goals as a snowboard racer? Eventually I would love to compete in the Olympics, Until then I would love to travel the world and enjoy the foreign places that my snowboarding experience takes me.
